The hydrostat in RTV's are a very dependable, trouble-free unit and makes the diesel RTVs many times the workhorse that the other brands with their belt drives are. We have sold probably a hundred X series RTV's and have only had a few hydro problems. After installing the Bighorns on it, I took it to a really steep hill that the RTV900 could never climb. You can't get any run at the hill and it is extremely steep. The problem you experience is normal. There is adjustments to the unload valve and you have to adjust the charge pressure. The question you have to ask your self is, do I want power or do I want speed? Unfortunately, you can't have both. Either max speed or max power. The broom is 66" wide, hydraulic angle, and yes it'll spin fast enough. The PTO is fast. In the RTV, on the left side of your seat, is a throttle lock. You run it up to full throttle and lock it.
